About our scuba diving tour
What do you think about taking your first scuba dive? Or maybe you are already an experienced diver? This tour is ideal for both.
If you are already a certified diver you have the opportunity of performing either of two dives, both of which are accompanied other by certified divers. In case this is your baptism so to speak, you will be accompanied by a qualified instructor for the duration of your dive.
The dive showcases some of the best caves and a plethora of fish and sea life. You will be instructed in all necessary care for your equipment and safety procedures. The dives are conducted in the coastal resort town of Arraial do Cabo which is located 160km from Rio de Janeiro.
A Brief History of Scuba Diving
In 1679, an Italian priest became the first man to dive safely and comfortably using an early underwater suit. However, it wasn’t until 1943 that the Frenchman Jacques-Yves Cousteau, together with engineer Emile Gagnan, developed the first autonomous breathing apparatus with a high-pressure valve. This invention allowed divers to balance the high pressures at the ocean’s depths.
From the 1940s to today, numerous improvements have been made to both diving suits and equipment, providing modern divers with much more comfort and safety.
