About our hiking tour to Tijuca Peak
Standing at 1021m above sea level, Tijuca Peak is the Tijuca National Park highest point. The hike culminates with a 117 step stairway carved out of solid Gneisses rock. It was built over a hundred years ago for the visit of a European king.
At the summit of Tijuca Peak hikers are rewarded with breath-taking 360 degree panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro. What could be a better of finding your bearings?
In order to reach the beginning of the trail we will cross almost all of Tijuca National Park by car, passing by various waterfalls and beautiful scenic views where you will be able to observe the city from a variety of different perspectives.
