About our hiking tour to Pedra da Gávea
On the western edge of Rio’s South Zone one finds an imposing plateau of rock called Pedra da Gávea(Gávea Stone). It is the largest monolith in Latin America, as well as the highest coastal monolith in the world and makes for an adventurous hike.
According to some local legends the rock is a visiting place for extra-terrestrials as well as being a portal to other dimensions. The trail begins in Barra and passes through Tijuca Forest.
Hikers will need to keep their eyes peeled for monkeys and other scansorial animals which inhabit the tree tops. The trail culminates at the summit of How to book the hiking tour to Pedra da Gávea
The Pedra da Gávea hiking tour depart daily, you can choose the date and book it to suit your schedule. We need at least 2 people, If you are one person alone, we can allocate you in another group. Book online by clicking the “book now” button. Fill the small form with your information and you will be redirect to our payment page. It is mandatory to pay a reservation fee of R$ 150 BRL per person, it must be paid through PayPal (all credit cards). The other part of the payment must be done cash direct to our guide in the tour day.
