Hang Gliding

Rio de Janeiro is amongst the world’s best places to practice hang gliding. Take off is from the ramp at Pedra Bonita hill which is located in Tijuca Forest National Park and stands at a height of 510 m.

You will fly above Tijuca Forest with panoramic ocean views before descending to land on the golden sands of Pepino beach in São Conrado. The flights last on average between 5-20 minutes depending on the force of the wind and other flight conditions.

Before your actual flight you will take an introductory tandem hang gliding lesson. You will also practice taking off before being ready to fly. At no time will anybody’s life be put at risk, we have no record of accidents. You will be informed of flight conditions and any possible hazards before take-off. We are certified members of the Brazilian Association of hang gliding.

How to get there? After book you will get a map, address, pilot’s name and pilot’s phone.

Is there a place to leave our belongs?  Yes, all your belongs are going to stay safe in the pilot’s car.

Is it possible to pay the reminder to the pilot in credit card? Yes, you will be charged extra 10%. The best option is to pay in cash: BRL, US$ or Euros!

Is there a minimum age to fly? Yes, 14. For minors(14-17) require the signature of a parent.

Is there a weight limit? Yes, 110 KG. For people over 110 KG it is possible to fly paragliding(140 KG).

Can I Bring my go pro camera? Yes you can. It must be attached to you.

Can I get a transfer service? Yes, it is paid separate. The service may not be available if you book the tour with short notice or during new years and carnival. The best way is go to the meeting point by taxi.

What happen if the day is not good to fly? We will let you know in the day before. You can reschedule or get the reservation fee back.

How to book the Hang Gliding tour in Rio de Janeiro

The hang gliding tour depart daily, you can choose the date and book it to suit your schedule. Book online by clicking the “book now” button.

Fill the small form with your information and you will be redirect to our payment page. It is mandatory to pay a reservation fee of R$ 150 per person, it must be paid through PayPal (all credit cards). The other part of the payment must be done cash direct to our guide in the tour day.
